iPad Paintings
Esperanza Spaulding surprised us on the Jazz Cruise 2016 by sitting in on Joe Lovano's performances several times. She was not listed among the musicians - these were delicious stealth jam sessions! Made even sweeter by the fact that most people on the ship had no idea that she was there, so the Crows Nest venue was half empty! She kindly autographed my spontaneous iPad painting of her. I loved having this unexpected opportunity to paint her again. When she came to our hometown of Arcata in 2010 and performed at the Kate Buchanan Room at Humbold State University, I created my first iPadJAZZart, sitting just a few meters away from her.
